Hello everyone.

We had another busy week.  In math students worked on their addition and completed an addition quiz.  Students will bring their quiz home on Monday, so please ask to see it.  We also worked on place value, roman numerals and Reflex Math.  In writing, students worked on the use of commas, looking for the /s/ pattern in words and they contiued to practise their cursive handwriting.  During reading, we worked on reading and writing short informational paragraphs. In science we learned about the many systems in the human body.  Finally, in socials, we continued to learn about mapping.

Here is what we will be working on next week:

Math:  Addition (last week before test the following week); Math Wall (word problems); Basic Skills Drill; Place Value

Writing: The Best Part of Me; Periods and Capitals; Spelling pattern /s/

Reading: Assessments; Personal Newspapers

Science: Human Body- How systems are interconnected.

Socials Studies: Mapping
