A few bits for the week...
Remember, we have a Skating Field Trip this coming Monday. Thank you for promptly returning permission forms. We will be leaving the school by bus at 12:30pm. Please ensure your child remembers his/her helmet!
Next Tuesday, our class will be starting a Social Thinking Program each Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon for the next 4 to 5 weeks. A letter with more details is coming home today and I am attaching a copy here. The program needs your support to be truly successful so please read the letter and have a look at the vocabulary too.
Last Tuesday morning, Brentwood's Active Start Program began. Students are invited to join our new staff member, Mrs. Bagshaw, in the Gym from 8am to 8:35am for a variety of activities. Research has shown that for some students, starting their day with some vigorous exercise can help them in their abilities to regulate themselves throughout the day especially during academic periods. Interested students must come into the Gym via the OUTSIDE GYM DOORS (by the stairs) starting at 8 am. Bring any packs etc with you. The doors will close if the gym fills up. Around 8:30 students will help clean up and be able to join their regular line ups when the 8:35 bell rings.
Thanks to everyone who helped their child with the ice for our Ice Castle! The children really enjoyed building it and sharing it with other students at recess. They were in awe of the spectacular effects of the food colouring.
Many of the students' Homework duo tangs have not been at school for a while. Please help your child return this homework book every Thursday. Being responsible for these books and the work in them is an important start to building positive homework habits for future years.
