Hello Division 13 Families.
It's hard to believe we are heading into term three! We hope you all enjoyed your Spring Break. We’re sure many students will have stories to tell of their two-week adventures, whether it was a staycation or a trip away. We hope everyone had fun and stayed healthy.
Below you will find the events and reminders for the week.
Math:With Mrs. Brown students will complete their financial literacy projects. As students finish, they will work on other financial literacy math problems. With Ms. Nightingale, students will be starting our new geometry unit.
Writing: 1. Students will complete their good copies of their nformational writing, and share it with a friend. 2. Students will complete a writing piece about what they did over Spring Break.
Reading: We begin our weekly, “Tune Tuesday” where students read through lyrics of a song and we analyze meaning from the text using context clues. We will also begin the introduction to our book clud for the term.
Science: In Science, students will be finishing up and then presenting their biome projects to the class. They put a lot of effort into their dioramas and were working on finishing up the written portion of their research.
Art: This week we shift our focus on visual arts to dance. We have a guest teacher coming in to teach us a dance routine on Wednesday.
Physical Education: On Mondays for the foreseeable future, we are starting a new fitness unit. It will involve music and a lot of movement. Students are reminded to make sure they have a pair of runners, not sandals or boots, to help them feel comfortable while participating in these gym blocks. For the remainder of the week we will begin our unit on volleyball and continue to play a variety of cooperative games.
