Hello Division 13 Families.

Below you will find the events and reminders for the week.

Math:With Mrs. Brown, we will finish our holiday shopping project which involves the addition of various shopping items.  With Ms. Nightingale,  we started a game practicing finding the perimeter of islands on our treasure maps.

Reading and Writing: This week we have two projects on the go. First, we will finish our“Biography in a Bag” projects.   Students should bring their  items from home which they will use to represent their chosen person. Presentations are this week.  Our second project is writing a persuasive paragraph for a holiday sweater contest.  Students will finish drawing their own holiday sweater and writing their persuasive paragraph convincing me to choose their sweater for the contest.

Social Studies This week we had a discussion about exploration and brainstormed why people would want to explore. Then we listened to Jane Yolen's "Encounter" story and wrote journal entries from two very different perspectives-the indigenous child and that of a European explorer.

Physical Education: This week, we will continue our mini soccer jamboree with four teams playing mini games against each other.

Art: This week we will finish our holiday crafts.
