Hello Division 13 Families.

Below you will find the events and reminders for the week.

Math: With Mrs. Brown, we will continue  our unit on adding multidigit numbers. With Ms. Nightingale,  students will continue the new unit on Perimeter and Area.

Reading and Writing: This week we have two projects on the go. First, we will continue working on our “Biography in a Bag” projects.   Students would be starting to find items at home which they can use to represent their chosen person.  An email was sent home today with more details. Presentations will be next week.  Our second project is writing a persuasive paragraph for a holiday sweater contest.  Students will draw their own holiday sweater and then write a persuasive paragraph convincing me to choose their sweater for the contest.

Social Studies and Science: This week we took a break from social studies and science and did a little baking instead. We had a super busy day baking nearly 200 cookies!  All of the students were incredibly helpful both bringing in supplies and helping to do the clean up, both after we made the dough, and then again after we rolled it out and baked.  We had a chance to learn a little about the science and chemistry behind our baking and everyone had a chance to participate.  Well done Division 13! There are many leaders in our classroom.

Physical Education: This week, we will have a mini soccer jamboree with four teams playing mini games against each other.

Art: This week we will work on some holiday crafts as well as sew stockings.   We will also be making and decorating gingerbread houses.
