Hello Division 13 Families.

This is a short week with Remembrance Day on Thursday and a Pro-D day on Friday.  We will be having a virtual Remembrance Day ceremony in the classroom on Wednesday where students will receive a poppy.  We are collecting donations for the Canadian Legion this week.  If you wish to donate, please send your donation in by Wednesday.

Below you will find the events and reminders for the week.

Math: With Mrs. Brown students will continue using their knowledge of place value to round numbers to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand. With Ms. Nightingale,  we looked at the metric units we measure the capacity of liquids (liters and milliliters) and the mass of solid objects (kilograms, grams, milligrams).

Reading: This week we will read about Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy.  Students will complete an activity where they write down different facts and statements about what they read about Remembrance Day.

Writing:  This week we continue to share our writing from last week. Students will also write an acrostic poem about Remembrance Day.

Social Studies: In Socials, we have finished writing post cards from a province or territory we have studied. Now we are learning about The Legend of ȽÁU, WELṈEW̱ and are retelling the story in mini books.

Science: In Science, we have been learning about different animals that use echolocation and have watched a video highlighting sharks and their sense of smell.

Physical Education: We continue to play cooperative games as well as continue our focus  on soccer skills.

Art: This week we will complete our watercolor paintings of poppy fields.
