Hello Division 13 Families.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Below you will find the events and reminders for the week.

Math: With Mrs. Brown students will continue learning about place value.  We will be learning the difference between standard and expanded form and practicing identifying and writing both forms up to thousands, hundred thousands, millions and  hundred millions.

Reading: This week we will continue to take a look at the meaning of genre and explore different genres in our classroom library.

Writing:  This week we will begin writing a descriptive fictional piece.  Students will brainstorm adjectives and nouns they can use in writing a piece to sell a haunted house. Students will also come up with a list of characters they will include in their descriptive writing piece.

Social Studies: Ms. Nightingale will resume with social studies and science next week.

Physical Education: This week we will play cooperative games as well as beginning a focus  on soccer skills.

Art: Students will color their model magic owls.  We will also begin creating a 3-D haunted house paper model which will accompany our descriptive writing.
