Math: With Mrs. Brown, we are learning about fractions. Students will identify unit fractions, as well as the fraction as equal parts of a whole, and the terms denominator and numerator. With Mrs. Westmacott, students continue to work on probability scenarios
Reading: Students will identify idioms, similes and metaphors in various texts. We will also do some close reading with music where students will analyze song lyrics from Rachel Platten’s “This is My Fight Song”, looking for deeper meaning, symbolism and themes.
Writing: Students will continue working on their research project.Students are taking their research notes and paragraphs and creating a Google slide presentation which will be presented to the class on June 8th.
Science: In science we continue learning about the rock cycle.
Social Studies: In social studies, we will learn about the Chinese Head Tax.
Physical Education: This week we will participate in some cooperative games in the gym and outside.
Art: This week students will finish their hummingbird pictures with a focus on shading.

Thursday, May 27th - Division 14 Camp Day - Please have your child at the school by 6:45 on Thursday morning. I will take attendance by the bus and hand out camp t-shirts. An email was sent home today with the packing list.
