Hello Division 14 Families.

Please read below and if you have any questions, please email us.

Math:  With Mrs. Brown, students will continue doing multiplication donut drills daily, so it would be beneficial for all students to continue practicing  their multiplication facts each night. This week we continue our new unit on long division. We will also finish working on our unit on financial literacy.  Students will prepare to present their budgets to the class next week.   With Mrs. Westmacott, students will continue working on Stats and Probability-Pie Graphs.

Reading: This week we continue our unit in the reader's theatre.  Our focus continues to be reading with expression. Students will also be encouraged to make props and signs for their performance with the goal of performing next week.

Writing:  Students will be working on their research project where they will choose a person who inspires them and research this person’s life.  The end goal will be for students to write a biography report on the person they choose to research. We will also be discussing copyright and use of others' work.  Students will learn how to keep track of resources they use for their projects and they will be taught how to write a bibliography.

Science: In science we will be doing a Solutions and Solubility-pH Lab

Social Studies:   In social studies, we will continue working on the Saanich Moons research project.

Physical Education: This week we will participate in some cooperative games as well as a fun Capture the Flag game outside.

Art: We still have not finished our weaving projects.  This wek will be dedicated to completing the beautiful bags.
