Hello Families.

Please read below and if you have any questions, please email us.

Math:  With Mrs. Brown, students will continue doing multiplication donut drills daily, so it would be beneficial for all students to continue practicing  their multiplication facts each night. This week our focus is using lattice multiplication.  Ask your child about this method.

We will also be starting a unit on financial literacy this week.  Students will be given a profession, a salary, they may or may not have a spouse and children. With their monthly wage, the students will be required to find accommodation they can afford and then, budget for things like, electricity, food, phone bills, utilities, cars etc.

Reading: This week we continue our unit in the reader's theatre.  Students have chosen a reader’s theatre story they would like to perform. Our focus this week is practicing reading with expression.

Writing:  Students will write a poem called, “I Wish You More”. We will also work on editing skills this week.

Science: In science we will begin a new unit on Solutions and Solubility

Social Studies:   In social studies, we will begin our introduction on The Saanich Moons research project.

Physical Education: This week we will participate in some cooperative games as well as a fun Capture the Flag game outside.

Art: Last week we worked on Easter themed zentangles.  Students will be finishing those this week as well as continuing to finish their weaving projects.
