Hello Families.

Apologies for getting this out so late!  It’s been a busy week so far and can you believe it’s the last week before Spring Break?

Below are the events and reminders for the week. If you have any questions, please email us.

Math:  With Mrs. Brown, students will be doing multiplication donut drills daily, so it would be beneficial for all students to continue practicing  their multiplication facts each night.  This week we will work on multiplication of two digit numbers by two digit numbers. Students are working on one of two projects where they will be practicing their multiplication skills.  The first is, “Designing a House”, the second is, “Planning a Zoo”.   With Mrs. Westmacott,  we will continue  working on our peer created perimeter and area questions.

Reading and Writing: This week we will read chapters 13 and 14 from Number the Stars.  After reading the chapters, students will be asked to write a detailed paragraph predicting what will happen in the next two chapters.

Science: In science we will continue planning and building our cardboard arcade games.

Social Studies:   In social studies, we will continue working on creating our posters or slideshows for the numbered treaties.

Physical Education: The gym is closed due to the cardboard arcade.  We will take P.E. outside this week and play games on the field.

Art: This week we will continue  learning about Coast Salish weaving and the cultural significance of this wonderful art form. We are lucky to have a Teams presentation by Tara Morris who will teach us how to weave a cedar coaster.
