Hello Families.
We hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. Below are the events and reminders for the week. If you have any questions, please email us.
Math: With Mrs. Brown, we will continue writing numbers in standard form, expanded form and word form. With Ms. Westmacott, students will continue learning about telling time.
Writing: This week we will work on our journals and begin fictional narratives.
Reading: We will continue to read some short stories and explore ways to write a summary. Students will pull ten important points out of their short story and learn how to put those points into a written summary. In addition, students received their reading sheets last week, to keep track of at home reading. Students should be reading twenty minutes each night and keeping track of it on their reading sheet.
Science: This week we will be finishing up the digestive system with some hands-on stations and review.
Socials Studies: We will be starting to take a look at government in preparation for the Student Vote.
Physical Education: Over the last two weeks we have been exploring various physical literacy games. We will continue to introduce cooperative games this week.
Art: We will be finishing our owls and adding colour to them before sending them home.
Reminders
Fresh Grade: Last week I sent permission forms for your child to use Fresh Grade. This will be an excellent way for me and your child to share work they are completing at school. Please sign and send the form to school as soon as possible.
INDOOR SHOES: As the weather turns, we ask you to send a pair of indoor shoes with your child. It is preferable to have the shoes stay in the classroom but it is also okay to have them in the backpack if they need to go back and forth between school and home.
