Hello Families.

A huge thank you to all the parents who helped with sewing last week and pumpkin carving on Monday.  What a lucky class we are to have parents so willing to give their time. Both activities were a great success and allowed the children to demonstrate their creativity.

Tomorrow is Halloween and the children are allowed to wear costumes or if they prefer, orange and black.  If wearing a costume, children are reminded to not bring weapons and no blood, guts or gore.  We have also said no masks, as they can scare the younger children during the costume parade.

Below are our events and reminders for this week:

Math With Mrs. Brown:Students continue to work on place value with our focus on decimals to hundredths and thousandths this week.  We will also look at rounding numbers.  With Ms. Rickson: Students are studying pictographs and looking at the way they represent data. The will also be completing an MnM pictograph or bar graph.

WritingStudents are working on their "Haunted House for Sale" descriptive writing pieces.  We are hoping to finish the final drafts this week.

Science:  Science experiment: Dissolving MnMs

Social Studies: Parliament game and discussion about current leaders in government.

Physical Education: This week we continue to work on our soccer skills. Students have been split into four teams and will play a series of 8 mini soccer games throughout this week.

Art:  Students carved pumpkins on Monday and later in the week will be working on a poppy watercolour in preparation for Remembrance Day.
