Hello parents.
I must start with a huge thank you to all of you who helped to make our buddy brunch a success. Division 12 is so lucky to have such amazing parents! We appreciate the items sent
in, the cooking of bacon and sausages, the pancake flippers, the set up,
cleaners in the kitchen, and the distributors of food. Thank you
all for your support, the children had a
great time with their buddies and a fantastic feast!

Math: With Mrs. Brown:
This week we continue working on our budgeting project. Students have been given
an occupation with a specific salary and they have been given a family
who they must provide for. They need to take their monthly wage and
decide how much money they can put towards housing, groceries,
transportation etc. We are also working on learning our multiplication facts. Please practise this with your children at home.
Writing: This week students will work on the editing stage of their personal narratives.
Reading: Students will read an article titled, "The Montreal Caves" and try to find the important facts from the passage they read. We will also be starting our Reader's Theatre where students will perform a read aloud play in groups. Stay tuned for a performance date.
Socials Studies: Students will continue working on their inquiry projects.
Science: Students will explore the states of matter, solutions and evaporation.
Physical Education:
We continue our focus is on the Olympics. Students have been put into
groups and have been assigned a country. They will compete in various
games to gain points for their country.
Dance: Students continued learning a new dance for the Fine Arts Festival and for the performance in May. Mark your calendars now...the performance will be on Tuesday, May 15th at 12:30 in the gym.
