Last week was a short but full week.  Students continued to work on subtraction, patterns and equations in math. In science, we watched a dissection of a pigs heart and finished up our study of the circulatory system.  In socials studies the kids finished up thier maps.  In language arts, we finished our discussions about Remembrance Day and why we recognize this day every year.

Here is what we hope to teach next week:

Writing:  We will read the book, "The Most Magnificant Thing" and then students will write about their own magnicant thing. (We were supposed to do this last week but ran out of time)

Grammar:  We continue to look at commas and different ways to use them in writing.

Spelling: We will look at the /j/ pattern.

Reading: We will be looking at parts of a story.

Math:  We continue to work on subtraction of large numbers with borrowing.  We will also continue working on  equations and patterns.

Socials Studies: We will look at natural resources in Canada.

Science: Continue our study of the human body with a new focus on the skeletal and muscular systems.
