Welcome to Kindergarten everyone!

It is a very exciting and sometimes unnerving for some as we venture to full days of learning and playing. The children have done really well this week adjusting to 3/4 - full days! They managed to integrate with the Primary recess times where if they had siblings, cousins or friends from another class - they were excited to see! We are still learning about line up places, when the bell goes to return to our lines quickly and this will come with practise and time.

All the children have been working hard on following the procedures/routines in the class, playing with their new friends and learning or reviewing skills of cutting and how to hold a pencil to print their name.  We now have a  schedule of our learning which I will attach. (Please note this is very flexible but a good idea of the day activities.)

Sharing: "All About Me" items to share with the class.

Star Student: Each child will have a chance to be a line leader, sit in our "special star chair" and lead the other children with the morning message, "reading" names. We are working our way down our list alphabetically. But if there is a birthday, the child whose birthday it is will be the star student for the day. Everyone gets a turn and then go through the list again.  We do have a birthday that we are celebrating this Monday - James! So he will be the Star Student then, we return to the original order.

School Supplies

Please send in your child's school supplies if you have not done so. We will be starting our Journal writing next week as well as our Math Journal too. Please send their plastic folder everyday as your child may have artwork they wish to bring home or notes.

Please send in extra clothes clearly marked with your child's name/initials in a labelled plastic bag. (Ms. Fawcett said many were used today with the fire drill -thanks)
