Thank you to all the parents who helped with our cookie baking this week.  I could not have survived the baking without your help. Next week we will be sewing on Thursday, December 19th from 9-11.  If anyone is available to help with this, I  would appreciate it.

Next week will be our final week with Mrs. Thornton.  As mentioned at the beginning of September, Mrs. Thornton was covering a maternity leave for Mrs. Cannady, who will join our class in January. Mrs. Cannady spent three days in the classroom this week to become familiar with our routines and to get to know the children. We are sad to say goodbye to Mrs. Thornton but  we are happy to offer a warm welcome to Mrs. Cannady.

Here are the events and reminders for this week and next week:

Math With Mrs. Brown, this week we will continue to practise rounding the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, up to hundred thousands.   With Mrs. Thornton, we are working on describing and sorting quadrilaterals.  We will also be investigating 3D objects and 2D shapes, based on multiple attributes, describing and constructing rectangular and triangular prisms and identifying prisms in the environment.

Reading/Writing: We will continue our Fairy Tale unit.  This week and next, students will be writing their first drafts of their fractured fairy tale.  Each student will be proofreading their work and completing a check, to make sure they have fulfilled the criteria.
