Hello Families.
Well, this week flew by and I did not get the blog out to you. Here are our events from this week and below are the events and reminders for next week.
This week we continued to work on multiplication and geometry in math. Students wrote two multiplication quizzes...results will be on Fresh
Grade soon. In language arts, we continue to research Canadian Women in History. Students have chosen one woman to learn more about and are in the process of recording their research information on a research sheet. In Science we are learning about the digestive system. We conducted an experiment to simulate food travelling through the digestive system, measured the length of the digestive system in string, used a nylon tight to show the process of peristalsis, and discovered if we could taste an enzyme in action! Finally in art, we created our mandalas on paper and also made terracotta plates on which we will etch our mandalas next week.
Next week:
Math: With Mrs. Brown, students with finish the multiplication unit with a final test on Thursday. Students should continue to work on learning their basic multiplication facts up to the 12 times tables. With Ms. Rickson, students will continue discussing perimeter and doing some examples.
Reading/Writing: We continue our "Canadian Women of History" unit and students will complete their research notes on their chosen Canadian woman of the past. Ask your child who they are researching.
