Hello Families.

We are off to the start of another busy week. Here are the events and reminders for the week.

Math With Mrs. Brown, students continue to work  on using the traditional method and the box method to solve 2 digit by 1 digit and 3 digit by 1 digit problems. Some of the students have started  2 digit by 2 digit multiplication and 3 digit by 2 digit multiplication.   Students should continue to work on learning their basic multiplication facts up to the 12 times tables.   With Ms. Rickson, students will continue discussing perimeter and doing some examples.

Reading/Writing: We started our "Canadian Women of History" unit and students have begun researching their chosen Canadian woman of the past. Ask your child who they are researching.

Socials Studies - Friday, we will have our first SENCOTEN lesson in the Cultural Room with Mrs. Mcevay.  We will also be participating in lessons with the enormous Indigenous Map of Canada in the gym.

Applied Skills, Design and Technology  We will be using the Spheros with our buddies.

Physical Education: This week P.E. will take place outside, as the gym has the Indigenous Map of Canada covering the floor. We will be participating in organized games on the back field.

Art: Students will create symbols which represent their personalities, likes, dislikes, hobbies etc.  They will use these symbols to create a personal mandala on paper with pencil crayons and felts.  Next week, they will make a clay plate so they can etch their mandala design into their plate.
