A few bits for the week...
The kids and I have to decided to have a Pyjama Day this coming Friday, December 11th. Children who are not comfortable coming in pyjama's are, of course, welcome to wear their street clothes!
Your PAC is asking for your help to support Sidney Food Bank and help decorate our school in a Winter Wonderland! Students are invited to bring in a cash donation ($1 or $2) that will go towards supporting Sidney Food Bank over the holidays. Sidney Food Bank donates to our school by supporting our Breakfast and Forgotten Lunch Program throughout the year! Bring in a donation and help our community while decorating our School!
Your child brought home a blue bag of books today. 1000 x 5 Children’s Book Recycling Project has donated these books for your child to keep! The project is based upon the belief that if a child hears and handles 1000 books by the age of 5, he or she is much better prepared to enjoy and succeed in learning. Every month, they donate over 1500 books for young children. They rely largely on donations of children’s books from children who have outgrown them and invite families to drop gently used books off at Brentwood School or send them in along in your child's backpack with a note. The hope is that all these pre-loved books will also find their way back to 1000 x 5 someday! If you would like to know more about 1000 x 5, their website is www.1000x5.ca.
