Hello Families.

It was so busy last week, I did not get to updating the blog.  Welcome back to everyone from a fabulous Spring Break...we were sure lucky with the weather.  The children jumped right back into a busy school week.  Last week we started our Financial Literacy Projects in math and we continued  our unit in Geometry by discussing different types of polygons. In writing, students wrote about their Spring Break. In computers,we followed a YouTube tutorial video to learn how to create an original GIF using Google Slides. In Science we started our unit on the human body.  In P.E. we began our unit in volleyball. Lastly, in art, students painted a watercolour background and added sharpie details to create a dandelion painting.

Here are the events and reminders for this week.

Math With Mrs. Brown, we will continue working on our Financial Literacy projects where students have been given a profession and a monthly wage.  Students are required to buy a house, car, groceries, pay for hydro, gas and insurance.  After completing their budget, students will put all their information on  a poster. We are also beginning our multiplication of large numbers.  Students should continue to work on learning their basic multiplication facts up to the 12 times tables.   With Ms. Rickson, students will be discussing perimeter and doing some examples.

Reading/WritingStudents finished their good copies of their Spring Break writing.  We are also working on writing poems based on the children's book, "I Wish".

Applied Skills, Design and Technology We are going to be following a YouTube tutorial video to learn how to create an original GIF using Google Slides.

Physical Education: We continue to learn various volleyball skills and will begin playing games.

Growth Mindset:We will be reviewing the parts of the brain we began learning before the break. We will use "Your Fantastic, Elastic Brain" by JoAnn Deak to help us with this!

Art: Finishing our watercolour dandelions.
