A few bits for the week...
- Our Sluggett Farm field trip is this Friday, June 16th. Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. Boots are recommended.
- Kindergrad will be scheduled for Thursday, June 22nd at 2:00. This will be a low-key celebration of the children's first year at Brentwood School. No limos please.
- Fun Day is Friday, June 23rd. Children spend the morning dashing around to a variety of activities. Families are invited to come watch the mayhem and then join their children for a picnic lunch outside. The PAC will be hosting a small concession with some snack foods. In the afternoon, primary classes will enjoy popcorn and a movie.
- Invitations went home today for Brentwood's Pancake Breakfast on the last day of school. Bring your own dishes and join us around back at 8:40. More details to come.
- Sharing this week: Monday-Samantha, Tuesday-Sasha, Wednesday-Sawyer, Thursday-Taylor, Friday-Tessa.
- Food for thought: Yesterday evening, I attended a presentation by Dr. Martin Brokenleg. Google him if you have a minute; he is an impressive man. He pointed out a study in which they calculated the average amount of time parents spend talking to their children each day. They did not include the amount of time telling them to brush their teeth or clean their rooms, but the amount of time spent in meaningful conversation. On average, mothers spend only 3 minutes a day talking to their children and fathers only 49 seconds! YIkes!
Have a great weekend!
