Literacy Day:
January 27th is Family Literacy Day! Family Literacy Day began in Canada in 1999 with the purpose of raising awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family and we have lots of fun activities planned to celebrate this day at Brentwood!
Dress as Your Favourite Literacy Character: Come to school dressed as your favourite book character! This Brentwood tradition is always lots of fun
Family Reading: Come join your child in his/her classroom from 8:40-9:00 for some reading time together!
Book Swap: On Family Literacy Day we would like to send the children home with a new (for them) book to read and enjoy. In order to make this possible we are asking if every child can bring in one (or two!) gentlyused book(s) from home to swap for a new one. Please bring books in by Friday, January 20th!
If you have any questions please feel free to come see me in the library, Thank you so much for your participation in making this a wonderful day!
Buddy Breakfast: Tuesday, February 14th....Details to follow.
