Brentwood Safe Arrival-- changing to email

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday families received the below letter in hard copy. Thanks for your help as we transition to reporting student attendance by email. Our email address is brentwood_attendance@saanichschools.ca .

March 12, 2020

Hello Brentwood Families,

In an effort to streamline our communication, we are making a change to attendance reporting for Brentwood Safe Arrival. Commencing after Spring Break, Safe Arrival will be transitioning to an email address instead of a phone number. This practice is consistent with other district schools and will allow families to report absences without a phone.

Our new safe arrival procedure will be to email brentwood_attendance@saanichschools.ca  to report your child’s absence. In your email, please include the full name of the absent child, their division number or teacher name, and the date(s) and reason for absence. We will also launch a link on our school website where you can simply click to email this account as well.

We want to thank the dedicated volunteers who have been answering our safe arrival line for many years. This line will be answered for the month of April 2020, and then after that we will switch entirely to the brentwood_attendance@saanichschools.ca address to report student absences as of May 1, 2020. Please be sure to email each day your student is absent before 9:00am. School staff will still phone home if we have not heard from families in regards to attendance for that day after teachers have taken attendance. As always, our office staff will be available if you need to speak about the absence, or any other matter, at 250-652-3996.

Thank you for your support of this change
